FFAP Congress 2023: a touch of magic in La Grande-Motte

Le Cabinet d’Illusions was present at the 56th French Congress of Illusion, which took place this year in La Grande-Motte, a destination completely opposite to the next one, which will be in the North!

This article is an opportunity to present some highlights of the congress. We took advantage of the event to present several projects: Bénita Anguinet, whose proof had just reached us (and whose printing is almost finished!), and the new trick Constellations where an astrological sign is divined without asking a single question and without ever having access to the card corresponding to the chosen sign.

While visitors were very receptive to this new tool for mentalists, our effect Codealso made a strong impression in its stage format, and something tells us that a sequel will be coming soon… to be continued!

The congress is also where various candidates present their ideas on a stage in front of all spectators to compete for the title of French champion in their category. We are pleased to announce the names of the two new champions who will represent France for this new year: Mervil and Jonathan Renoux. The latter is the creator of Magienarium, and also the author of Spectacle en couleurs, a book in which he explains a ready-to-use method for constructing a close-up act and staging it. This book is now more relevant than ever, and this French close-up champion award proves that Jonathan knows what he's talking about.

Let's also congratulate the many other participants and the various other awards given by the jury.

What would a congress also be without its numerous conferences, whether it be David Stone and Jean-Baptiste Dumas's (for which they received a well-deserved standing ovation), Alain Choquette's, Tony Polli's, Céline Noulin's, Roberto Giobbi's, Juliana Chen's, Eric Leblon's, John Bannon's, Jimmy Delp's (discover his book here), Laurent Beretta's, Ondrej Psenicka's, or Michael Ammar's. A beautiful lineup with performances by the artists during the galas. Special mentions to Eric Leblon, who masterfully led the gala with remarkable dynamism and technique, and to Céline Noulin for creating her exhibition on the life of Fanch Guillemin!

We have a date for next year to meet again in Le Touquet, where Le Cabinet d’Illusions will be with new projects already in preparation… and you, will you be there? 😉
