After hundreds of issues and decades of publication, Magicus Magazine bids farewell. This unique journal dared to speak openly about what others only whispered, and fearlessly addressed sometimes divisive topics. From now on, we will have to make do with a digital format.
For its final issue, Magicus Magazine organized a "Happy Funeral" in Paris on Wednesday, November 1st, where invited magicians had the pleasure of seeing various artists perform. For example, Luce, Fabien Olicard, Flip, Benoît Rosemond, Otto Wessely, Hugues Protat, and many others participated, all in the superb setting of the Magic Mirror at the Musée des Arts Forains.
We also had the pleasure of meeting many magician friends in the audience and the team who ran the magazine for all these years. It is to the magazine's credit that several people from the FFAP (French Federation of Professional Artists) were among the audience, a sign of Magicus's undeniable open-mindedness, which should be applauded here.
This magazine also contributed in its own way to the growth of Le Cabinet d'Illusions in its early days, by publishing various reviews of our editions (notably Bakner and Le magicien boiteux). Their neutral opinions and impeccably transparent reports motivated us to continue our momentum to become what Le Cabinet d'Illusions is today, and to introduce us to their loyal audience. We thank them for that.
Finally, it is with great pride that our book on the life of Mlle Benita Anguinet, the first female magician, has its review published in the latest issue of Magicus (No. 243) by Sébastien Bazou.
