Halfway between humor, magic, and theater, Éric Antoine has successfully established his unique style in the French artistic landscape. Now a television host, let's take a look back at this multi-faceted artist.
Beginnings in theater and illusion
Born in 1976 in Enghien-les-Bains, Éric Antoine discovered magic in his teenage years. But very quickly, he also developed a passion for theater, which he studied seriously. He notably joined the Jacques Lecoq International Theater School, a renowned training program.
This dual background – theater and magic – would forge his artistic identity. Éric Antoine wanted to tell stories, make people laugh, and perform magic.
Success with "Reality or Illusion?"
The general public discovered him in 2006 during the first season of La France a un Incroyable Talent, where he stood out with an unclassifiable style mixing stand-up, grand illusions, and absurd humor. This media appearance truly launched his career.
His first show, "Reality or Illusion?", met with immediate critical and public success. On stage, Éric Antoine played with his character of a slightly megalomaniac false guru, deconstructing the mechanisms of illusions while performing stunning ones. He combined all arts: magic, humor, poetry, and theater.
Éric Antoine did not limit himself to the stage. He quickly became a recurring media personality. In 2015, he returned to La France a un Incroyable Talent, this time as a jury member, where he brought humor, kindness, and expertise.
He also participated in numerous television shows, hosted programs (such as Tous les vœux sont permis on M6), and developed original formats combining magic and pedagogy, particularly for young audiences.
In parallel, he continued to perform shows at a sustained pace:
“Mystéric” (2012)
“Magic Délirium” (2014)
“Éric Antoine, le spectacle” (2018)
“Grandis un peu !” (2022)
From Magician to Television Host
Over the years, Éric Antoine has participated in more and more television shows as a presenter. While he is a judge on La France À Un Incroyable Talent, he is also found hosting Lego Masters, Les Traîtres,Le Juste Prix, and La Roue de la Fortune. A radical career change for this artist who owes his beginnings to magic.
