Mathieu Stepson is a French illusionist who became particularly well-known for winning the 2024 season of the show La France a un Incroyable Talent.
Early appearances on television
Born in Normandy, Mathieu Stepson discovered magic at the age of 10 when his school principal gave him a magic book at a gala. He gradually discovered this art and performed whenever he could. Over the years, he gained more and more experience and decided to participate in the television show Belgium's Got Talent (the Belgian equivalent of La France A Un Incroyable Talent). A few years later, he tried his luck on the French show and reached the semi-finals of La France A Un Incroyable Talent.
After participating in these two talent shows, he was hired for the show Diversion, where he made two appearances. Diversion, presented by Arthur on TF1, featured a small group of magicians performing magic tricks for a celebrity audience in front of viewers.
Finally, in 2024, he participated a second time in La France A Un Incroyable Talent and received a golden buzzer from Booder. Continuing his ascent selection after selection, he was propelled to the final where, after a moment of suspense, he won the 19th season of La France A Un Incroyable Talent. A great comeback for the illusionist who had been eliminated in the semi-finals during his last participation. It must be said that the first act he presented during this 19th season was particularly daring and caused a stir, as it consisted of literally doing nothing for the entire duration of the act. At the very end, a slate, with the precise time of the last buzzer, was presented as a prediction, an effect that won over the jury.
By winning the 19th season of La France A Un Incroyable Talent, the illusionist Mathieu Stepson once again propelled the art of magic into the spotlight. Once again because it was not the first time a magician won the top prize of this show. Indeed, the magician Antonio had already won the 11th season. Mathieu Stepson is therefore the second illusionist to win the final of this show.
